This is a 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) course
Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems, where and how to get help and what sort of help has been shown by research to be effective.
This training will increase mental health understanding and teach the practical skills needed to support someone experiencing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.
The bottom line is participants will leave with a greater confidence of how to help people across a variety of circumstances in what is an increasing challenge for Australians to deal with.
